A Michigan man is in recent news, not because of his actions, but because of the cowardice actions of others. Jahmel Binion was born with a condition called ectodermal dysplasia; a condition that stops the growth of his teeth and keeps Jahmel from sweating. Due to his appearance, ex-NBA athlete Shaquille O’Neal decided to make a mockery of Binion on the social network, Instagram.
“I’ve been getting teased since I was yay tall. People laugh at me, stare at me. I was kind of hurt because I’ve always looked up to him. I’ve watched Shaq play basketball… so I was like, why are you making fun of me? He is supposed to be this role model” – Binion
It’s unfortunate that even on a celebrity level, one seeks to make fun of others in order to get Instagram “Likes” or comments of approval. Shaquille O’Neal should be ashamed of himself. What do you really gain when you make fun of others for how they look?
