In what could easily be deemed as one of the biggest power moves in hip-hop history, Dr. Dre’s Beats By Dre is reportedly about to be acquired by Apple for $3.2 Billion dollars. The west coast native, former NWA member, and CEO of Aftermath Entertainment has come a long way from Straight Outta Compton. In fact, this deal could easily make him the first billionaire rapper! Just a few weeks ago, Forbes listed the top 5 richest rappers as such: P. Diddy ($700M), Dr. Dre ($500M), Jay-z ($520M), Birdman ($160M), 50 Cent ($140M). Looks like Forbes is going to have to edit these numbers, Dr. Dre is well on his way to making history. We hope he has enough time on his hands to finally drop DETOX!
