Music executive Jimmy Iovine and ex-rapper turned businessman Dr. Dre have something to celebrate today. This is because the global tech giant Apple has recently confirmed that they will acquire Beats by Dre for $3 Billion. $2.6 Billion will be dispersed to the audio technology company, and $400 million will be given in shares from Apple. Though the financial statistics haven’t yet been confirmed, this deal could easily make Dr. Dre the first rapper to reach the $1 Billion barrier. Not bad for the Compton native!
