Today at the Prefontaine Classic history was made by Djiboutian middle distance runner, Ayanleh Souleiman. This is because the 21 year old ran a mile (4 laps) in 3:47.32!! As athletes such as Ayanleh continue to shatter records, middle distance races are becoming more and more like sprints! Check out the video below to view this historical event.
