Last night a very inspirational advertisement aired in light of the latest controversy dealing with the current name of Washington D.C.’s NFL team, the Washington ‘Redskins’. The ad named Proud to Be portrayed Native Americans in all aspects of our American history. Change The Mascot is the organization behind this movement of the removal of D.C.’s NFL team name, Washington Redskins. We think the ad was pretty cool because it raised the concern that the term ‘Redskin’ is an offensive term for American citizens (Native Americans) who have the right to be respected and treated with equality.
