So You Think Hydration Isn’t Important?

iStock_000011177667XSmallToo often, the importance of being hydrated while exercising and living your everyday life is overlooked. Even the most minimal dehydration will increase cardiovascular strain, limiting the body’s ability to transfer its heat from contracting muscles to the skin surface for energy. In result, the water deficits increase the probability for exercise performance to be compromised, developing heat-related injuries. During an exercise, fluid intake should be adjusted to the sweat output that is being released by your body. Other than water, you should be ingesting fruits, fruit juices, and other foods to replace the electrolytes that are lost during the exercise. Ultimately, you should be replacing whatever fluids and electrolytes that are lost during the day. So remember, stay more hydrated not only for exercise, but to live a healthier life. DRINK DRINK DRINK………….. WATER!
