After months of arbitration and back & forth, Jimmy Graham & the New Orleans Saints have finally come to an agreement on a 4 year $40 Million dollar contract with $21 million guaranteed. Throughout the off season Jimmy Graham was fighting in court against the NFL & his own team because of the franchise tag that labeled his position as tight end, which only paid him $7 million dollars. Graham was attempting to be labeled as a wide receiver instead, so his franchise tag would bump up to $12 million a year for the standard wide receiver tag. However, in arbitration the judge ruled in favor of the Saints and ultimately Jimmy Graham remained labeled as a tight end for his position. But all of that is in the past now that Graham and the Saints have agreed to a new deal. Not only does this deal secure Jimmy Graham long term with the Saints, it also makes him the highest paid tight end in the history of the NFL. This move was really a forgone conclusion, Jimmy Graham is without question one of the best players on the Saints roster, outside of quarterback Drew Brees. With the NFL training camps merely a week away from starting, they will have their best receiver signed and ready to go.
