A father in Daytona Beach, Florida came home early Friday morning to report that he found a man sexually abusing his 11-year-old son. After seeing this, the father then proceeded to beat the culprit unconscious as he waited for the police to apprehend the suspect. Given that the father witnessed a crime happening in his own home, he will not be facing any charges. Daytona Beach Police Chief Michael Chitwood was asked by the press whether he had any issue with the father’s reaction Friday. Chitwood responded, “Not as a police chief and not as a father.”
The father’s identity and that of his son were not released to protect the identity of the minor as an alleged sexual abuse victim.
The father, was enraged but under control during the 911 call, telling the Volusia County emergency dispatch that 18-year-old Raymond Frolander was close to the family and was in the apartment while the father was out watching over his son. The father says that when he got home and approached Frolander, his pants fell down to his ankles “and nothing else needed to be said” says the Father.
According to the 11-year-old victim, Frolander had performed oral sex on him and instructed the boy to grab his genitalia. Unfortunately, the victim says that Frolander sexually abused him on more than one occasion, keeping silent over the fear of getting in trouble and being threatened by Frolander. Chitwood said that the 18-year-old was like a family member to the boy, who came over to their house on multiple occasions to babysit while his parents were out.
Let’s hope that this story can serve as a harsh reminder to all parents out there, young & old, to always be mindful and aware of who you allow to be around your children, while away. Moreover, lets commend this father for exercising his rights to “violate” this sex offender for harming his son.
