As the Ebola breakout in West Africa continues to produce more deaths, many researchers and doctors continue to put their life on the line in hopes of finding a cure for this horrible disease. A few hours ago, reports confirmed that Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia will be receiving a patient infected with Ebola over the “next several days”. TIME states that the patient being cared for at the Emory University Hospital could be one of the two American doctors infected ( Nancy Writebol and Dr. Kent Brantly).

–“Emory University Hospital has a specially built isolation unit set up in collaboration with the CDC to treat patients who are exposed to certain serious infectious diseases,”– TIME excerpt via Eliana Dockterman

The CDC is the Center For Disease Control and Prevention. Only one of four centers in this country, TIME reports that this is the highest level  warning since the 2003 SARS scare which stemmed from the continent of Asia. While some people are in favor of Emory’s altruism to care for the current infected patient, others worry that this could lead to an outbreak in America.

–“There is the potential that the actual movement of the patient could do more harm than the benefit from more advanced supportive care outside of the country.”– TIME excerpt
