This week we present up and coming musical artist, Rizzo Blaze. The Dallas-based rapper exhibits multiple talents through his music with not only his timeless lyrics, but the ability to create melodic music. Referring to himself as ‘Leader of the Youth,’ we were fortunate enough to speak with Rizzo and ask him a few questions:
1. What is the motivation behind your music?
Faith, family, the desire to push the envelope and create a new sound and enlighten my generation.
2. What is the meaning behind your name Rizzo Blaze?
Well, my government name is Khairi, and I thought it would be dope to come up with my name kind of unorthodox. I took the “ri” from the end of my name, and added the rest. The name Rizzo came from this character in this old movie, Grease. I think every fresh artist needs a last name and I set the bar very high for myself, so I felt “Blaze” was something groovy to have to live up to.
3. Who is your target audience?
People who love great music and the YOUTH!!! I’m trying to show young people that we have a voice. We have minds of our own. Our potential is limitless! We’re the generation that’s going to better the world.
