The recent accident involving a 9 year-old New Jersey girl and an Arizona gun instructor, Charles Vacca, has been receiving national and international attention.
Two days ago at the Bullets and Burgers gun range in White Hills, Arizona, (25 miles away from Vegas) the 9 year-old girl (unnamed) was operating a semi-automatic Uzi. After the instructor tells the child that he’s switching to “fully automatic”, he tells the girl to fire in which the Uzi recoil becomes too powerful to control. Unintentionally the Uzi can be shown turning left via the right-handed shooter ( 9 year-old girl) due to the recoil of the gun. Due to Charles Vacca standing on the left side of the little girl, a series of bullets reportedly reached Charles Vacca’s head after losing control. Reports indicate that he later died in a hospital after being air lifted from the Arizona gun range. The Father and Army Veteran will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
This is also a very unfortunate situation for the young girl who had to witness the death of a person by her own doing. Many people have placed the blame on the parents who signed off on this gun range event. Others have placed blame on the Bullets and Burgers gun range policies for allowing minors on their gun premise. Since this incident, reports have showed that Bullets and Burgers has changed the shooting range age from 9 to 12. Do you think this will make a difference? Let us know what you think below!
