A cyclone that has attributed to the evacuation of 300,000 citizens has just ripped through the eastern coast of India. Cyclone Hudhud has been classified as “very severe” due to it’s strong wind gust. Research shows that Hudhud possessed winds of approximately 127mph as it traveled over the city of Visakhapatnam.

Currently trees are down and electricity is out due to the strong winds that made landfall earlier this morning. So far 3 deaths have been confirmed. While many hope that the death toll will stay low, experts claim that the biggest test of Cyclone Hudhud’s wrath will be observed over the next 5 to 6 hours. This observation will be a result of a possible storm surge that will raise coastal waves and waters to a 6 foot increase. As a result of this possible surge, lower habitats of coastal communities can possibly be flooded and wiped out, ultimately leading to more deaths.
