Bradley Beal is expected to miss the start of the season after fracturing his left wrist against the Charlotte Hornets Friday night. What was at first believed to be just a sprain turned out to be a lot worse once an MRI was done Saturday.
The timetable for his return is said to be anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks. Although this is not a season ending injury, it is a very costly one due to the fact that Beal was supposed to play heavy minutes at the shooting guard position; not only because he’s a great young player but also because there is not a lot of depth behind him at the 2 spot. With Beal down, along with key backup Martell Webster still recovering from a back injury; the Wizards will be scrambling at the beginning of the season to try and find the best rotation to play without it’s promising young 2-guard. If the Wizards can’t produce enough points without its top scorer, the Wizards may find themselves in an early hole in the Eastern Conference standings.
