Looks like Christmas came a little early for some folks in Hong Kong. On Christmas Eve, a van transporting HK$525m ($68M US) unexpectedly crashed in the middle of the streets of one of Hong Kong’s busiest places; the Wan Chai district.
According to BBC, the said crashed happened around noon. While the reason for the crash is still unknown, an estimated $35HKM ($4.5M) was taken off the streets by witnesses and bystanders. The cash spilled onto the streets were said to have been bundled up $500HKM bills. Local authorities are now calling for the public to return the money or possibly face a serious offense (provided that authorities are able to trace back the loads of cash lost).
