Designer Ashley Isokpehi has always expressed her interest in apparel design. As she grew older, she learned how to incorporate her admiration for contemporary art into her early design projects and has always continued to nurture that aesthetic. Alexander McQueen, Stephane Rolland, Roberto Cavalli, and Pierre Balmain are just a few of the designers that have inspired Ashely over the years.
Naturally, she was drawn to Opening Ceremony for their seamless incorporation of avant-garde art and young, contemporary designers. In 2013, Ashley applied for a position as a styling and production intern at their New York location and ended up interning for three months before landing a design internship the next summer with Adam Selman, who has been designing iconic tour and casual looks for Rihanna since 2011.
After graduating in May, she plans on moving to New York and working for Adam while building her brand and body of work. Ashley’s first collection entitled ‘The Golden Precision’ was inspired by the rococo interior of the Theatine Church in Munich and features white, hand painted, laser cut leather in classic silhouettes.

Currently, she’s working on a women’s summer collection that features softer silhouettes and a brighter, more vibrant color palette. Ashley’s first collection is available for purchase at the designer’s website, which also features her latest projects and events.
