“Partnering with Luxottica is a huge coup for Google. In one fell swoop, Google could get Glass in front of tens or hundreds of millions of consumers in an eyewear-appropriate setting.”- J.P. Gownder ( Analyst at Forrester Research)
This is definitely a power move for the major Italian company. According to The Wall Street Journal, Luxottica led the eyewear market in 2012. Now distributions will be even greater! As a result of this partnership, Google Glass will be distributed in 5,000 U.S. stores.
We’re excited to see how Ray-Ban and Oakley will design a “new” Google Glass; consumers will definitely be more enthusiastic to buy a device that’s not only innovative, but stylish as well.
