On Thursday a federal jury in Manhattan, New York came to an agreement over a copy right dispute between the legendary hip-hop band, the Beastie Boys, and the beverage company Monster. The trial took eight days and covered the dispute of Monster Beverages using the Beastie Boys’ songs for promotional advertising usage back in the summer of 2012. Though the Beastie Boys (Mike D & Ad-Rock) were seeking a $2.5 Million settlement, they ended up getting $1.7 Million. Not bad for the Beastie Boys, all bad for Monster Beverage!  Check out this link for information via the Chicago Tribune.
