Multiple media reports have confirmed that Kevin Durant has decided to withdraw from Team USA’s basketball roster due to what the coaching staff claimed was “Mental & Physical fatigue.” Kevin Durant made the announcement saying
“I know that I owe it to my USA Basketball teammates to be totally invested in the experience.”After going through training camp with USAB, I realized I could not fulfill my responsibilities to the team from both a time and energy standpoint.”
Due to the fact that this decision comes not more than a week after Indiana Pacers All-Star Forward Paul George suffered a horrific injury; it’s hard not to speculate that George’s injury played some factor in Durant’s decision.
Kevin Durant is yet another top NBA player to withdraw from Team USA basketball this year along with Blake griffin, Lamarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love, & Kawhi Leonard.
