From his recent bleach-blonde hairdo, to his erratic, high-octane performances on stage, Vic Mensa has all the eccentricities of a rising rockstar. And with the way the past eight months have gone for him, it’s hard to argue he isn’t one already.
“Wimme Nah” sees both Mensa and (our favorite producer) Kaytranada at their very best. Over a forceful, dance-infused hip-hop beat, Mensa adeptly bounces off of vivid synths and deep bass like a wild-eyed lunatic:
“Look at all the bullsh*t I’ve been through, been in this sh*t since ’93/Running like Mike back in ’92″
The song will surely be huge back in Chicago, but also serves as a wake-up call for everyone who’s been sleeping on one of the best young emcees in the game.
