Billionaire and Chik-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy had little money and education when first beginning his tenure as a scrupulous businessman. According to AP News, Cathy opened up his first Chik-fil-A in 1967 in Atlanta, Georgia. Since that day, his successful fast-food chain has reached nearly 40 states, which have yielded a return of about $5 Billion annually.
Raised as a conservative Christian, Cathy believed in working Monday- Saturday, however, Sunday was always a day of rest for himself and his employees. Though he never budged, S. Truett Cathy and Chik-Fil-A came under fire after publicly announcing their disapproval of Gay marriages.

–“Cathy’s son, Dan, currently chairman and president of the chain, had told the Baptist Press in 2012 that the company was “guilty as charged” for backing “the biblical definition of a family.” Gay rights groups and others called for boycotts and kiss-ins at Cathy’s restaurants.”–
S. Truett Cathy left his family (wife, Jeannette McNeil Cathy; sons Dan T. and Don Cathy; daughter Trudy Cathy White; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren) with a $6 Billion fortune, easily making him one of the wealthiest businessmen in the history of America.
Rest in Peace
