The Indianapolis Colts have lost their best defensive player before they could even get him physically back on the team. Robert Mathis, who is currently serving a 4-game suspension, recently tore his Achilles tendon while working out last week. Mathis led the NFL with 19.5 sacks last year and was a defensive player of the year candidate for the AFC South Champions. This is a big hit for an Indianapolis Colts team that wasn’t an elite defense last year with Robert Mathis, who is was their top pass rusher. Now the Colts must find a way to pressure opposing QB’s after getting almost no pressure on Peyton Manning in their season opener.
