Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino has recently dropped another dope mixtape called ‘STN MTN’ hosted by DJ Drama. Unpronounced to his fan before the actual release, STN MTN is slightly reminiscent of a nostalgic Lil Wayne mixtape (the DJ Drama era at least). The Stone Mountain native featured several throwback Atlanta hits in which listeners such as ourselves appreciated. Some of the most classic samples he featured were ‘Rich Kids’ x My Patna Dem’ & ‘D4L’s x Laffy Taffy’. The mixtape was a pretty nice switch up of today’s current music because Gambino featured some of new Atlanta’s rising entertainers such as artist Young Scooter and producer Zaytoven while still providing dope bars. It’s no surprise that Gambino is one of the best lyricist in the rap game, his writing skills have led him to write for other artists and even for the hit NBC show ’30 Rock’. After listening to this mixtape it’s pretty clear that Childish Gambino wants to be taken a lot seriously as a rapper; we concur. Give the tape a listen below via Audiomack.
