Last week, James Blake premiered a fantastic new tune on his BBC Radio 1 residency program. Titled “Building It Still”, the song sounds closer to the experimental phase of his self-titled debut, powered perhaps by even more bass than “Limit To Your Love”. The thunderous track subtly masks Blake’s vocals, functioning as a post-dubstep/house hybrid with relentless pacing.
This new sound could be a result of Blake’s work with Kanye and Justin Vernon, but it’s hard to fully tell. Regardless, “Building It Still” is enough to satisfy fans who’ve been waiting for new material from the talented London artist. Enjoy.
