Michigan Fraternities Damage $400k Worth of Property

Remember the various movies one would watch depicting fraternity life in college? Well, after reading about this particular University of Michigan frat party, one could say those Hollywood movies weren’t so far fetched after all. Below is a video showing how “turnt up” a party can get at a local ski lodge.

The initial estimate of damages was valued at $100k, however, now the resort commissioner has told reports that damages could easily estimate up to $430,000!

[“If you just look at our out-of-pocket expenses, things we’ve paid to contractors, third parties, it’s around $230,000. It doesn’t take into consideration management time or damage to the resort’s reputation. Our accountants and attorneys are saying that this could be up to an additional $200,000,”] –  Barry Owens, Treetops GM via Detroit Free Press

What do you think should happen to the fraternities and sororities who participated in the damages of this resort? Do you think the GM is seeking a larger price value of damage just to get more money?
