Life After 44 Years In Prison: The Story Of Otis Johnson

Otis Johnson was 25 years old when he was incarcerated for Attempted Murder on a Police Officer. He was 69 when he got out. AlJazeera followed Otis around the streets of New York to find out more about his life as a free man after spending  more than half his life behind bars.

This is one harsh example of the devastating effects of an unjust system that is Mass incarceration & the Criminal Justice system as a whole in the United States Of America. President Obama & Senator Bernie Sanders have both made harsh critiques over mass incarceration & potential solutions to solve the problem. Hopefully something can be done to prevent more stories like Otis Johnson’s from happening.
