Born into the world of Nigerian and Jamaican descent, The One portrays a spiritual disclosure of Emeka’s early childhood. In this song we find Emeka relinquishing the moniker Doc M.O.B. and revealing an honest depiction of himself, yet still optimistic in a world filled with trials and tribulations. As an ode to his family and the city he’s from Emeka features vocals from his dad and vivid images of the city of Pasadena, California. The One is Emeka’s first single to drop from the highly anticipated album Promise Land. Versatile to say the least, Emeka has had an impressive year as he recently dropped an afrobeat inspired EP entitled Heritage back in March. Promise Land is set to drop early 2019, stay tuned, we promise this is what hip-hop needs!
