As lifelong friends and business partners LeBron James & Maverick Carter knew that they wanted to create something monumental; an unapologetic media entity that would become the voice for communities across the globe. As a result SpringHill Co. was formed, a name given in ode to the apartments LeBron was raised in as a youth in Akron, Ohio.
SpringHill Company has had great success since it’s inception. Recently, the company secured $100M of investment equity from a pool of investors; The Guggenheim Partners, NewsCorp, and SC. Holdings being some of the most notable. In addition to the $100M investment, SpringHill Company was already behind The Wall (show), Space Jam 2 (movie). Likewise, it will be great to see how LeBron and Maverick utilize their entertainment company now that they have a lot more money and investors to help push their agenda to become a digital platform.
“This is ultimately a company that’s about point of view, the community you serve, and empowerment,” says L.A. investment banker Paul Wachter, who helped put the project together. “This is a company designed to move the culture.” – Paul Wachter via Bloomberg Business
