Colorado | Marijuana Taxation Exceeds Original Hopes

Retail for recreational marijuana in the state began January 1st with a 12.9 percent sales tax. The state estimated revenue of $70 million to their voters when they approved the bill back in November. However, Colorado’s Governor now says they are estimating the sales tax to produce upwards of $98 million for the state.
