In what can be deemed as a historical event, not just for the city, but for this nation, Seattle City’s Council voted last night to raise the minimum wage to $15. This plan is said to be in effect within the next three to seven years. Currently, the state of Washington holds the highest minimum wage at $9.23 an hour, while the federal minimum average is still $7.25. According to USA Today, trade groups representing major firms and corporations in Seattle plan to sue in hopes of overturning this newly preposed minimum wage. Will this newly proposed minimum wage create a chain-like reaction across America? Do you agree with this minimum wage increase, why or why not? Let us know!
