Almost three years ago we brought you the article ” Seattle to Raise Minimum Wage to $15 “. Fast forward to 2017 and economic “relief” has now started in Seattle, Washington. Per multiple sources, $15 minimum wage will only begin for larger employers who have a staff over 500+ (large retailers, fast food chains, etc). The city of Seattle credits the success of raising the minimum wage to $15 by a result of grassroot campaigns and tenacious citizens.
What can we expect from minimum wage increase? This question is one that many wish could fast forward years from now to view the results. We truly do not know the impact it will have, however, retailers such as McDonalds have already began making changes; changes that unfortunately will HURT the average citizen, not help.
