Stretching; More Important Than the Actual Workout!

Working out everyday can be a bit strenuous on the muscles, but stretching, however, has daily benefits.While stretching is known to make you a little more flexible, the information below will make you look at stretching in a different aspect. In fact, after reading the benefits about stretching; something that will roughly take 10 minutes out of your day, one should think twice about overlooking it.

Stretching releases endorphins that are produced by your pituitary gland and hypothalamus. When endorphins are released they act as an opiate because they reduce the pain in the body. The same endorphins that are released by the body while stretching are actually said to help with the managing of stress, alleviate clinical depression, and anxiety.  Stretching isn’t just to prevent pulling a muscle in the gym, it also can be helpful in the convenience of your home or workstation. Likewise,  take 10 minutes out of your day to do some stretches, you won’t regret it!
