The quest to stop a deadly virus killing hundreds of people in West Africa just took a turn for the worse. Time Magazine’s Maya Rhodan reports that the Peace Corps made a motion to evacuate all of its volunteers from West Africa after numerous medical staff & head doctors have met their fate to the Ebola virus. It appears that the outbreak is starting to become more than what the help available can handle. Since July 23rd of this year the Ebola disease has taken the lives of over 720 people ranging from Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea. According to reports, this may be the largest outbreak of Ebola in history. The aftermath of so many deaths have caused drastic actions from the surrounding areas in West Africa. Nigeria went as far to shutter all of its doors after admitting a man into the hospital who had contracted the disease, he too met his fate due to Ebola. Local airports have even made all passengers participate in health screen tests to ensure there is no passenger showing any symptoms of Ebola. The video below gives us a little more information on the Ebola disease & hopefully Africa can get some more assistance because this disease must be contained.
