If you live in the United States you are probably familiar with local state laws and travel bans due to COVID-19. Though this has been a gruesome tasks for many Americans, have you ever stopped to consider how COVID restrictions are affecting other countries and cities around the globe? Today we will take a look at how hard work and resilience turned Ezequiel Soto into a scrupulous businessman with a premiere travel and entertainment company in the Dominican Republic. Moreover, we will learn how Ezequiel’s company Bandoz.inc , provides a unique experience especially during the global pandemic.
Ezequiel Soto is a self-made tour expert. Like similar entrepreneurial stories, he has dealt with adversity (starting a new life in the Dominican Republic and having to adjust to the travel bans amongst a global pandemic). You see, the Dominican Republic wasn’t necessarily a choice, but rather a forced decision made by U.S. Officials to send Ezequiel back due to petty misdemeanor charges when he was younger. As an educated American via high school and college, Ezequiel now had to learn new skills: the native spanish language, the ins and outs of navigating as a Dominican, and knowing who he could rely. Though Ezequiel was well educated, 28 years spent on the East Coast (with some time in Florida as well) would be very different compared to
The Dominican Republic is a magnificent country that resides in the West Indies. Surrounded by the Atlantic and Caribbean Ocean, it is easily one of the most beautiful places residing in the Western Hemisphere. Structurally bonded to neighboring country Haiti, the Dominican Republic is an eclectic country filled with many “races” and shades of hues due to historical influences and events. Nevertheless, all of the aforementioned play a vital role maintaining the food, music, and culture of the Dominican Republic.
When Ezequiel first moved back to the DR (2010), he initially began working at a local call center in Santo Domingo (the Capital) to get accustomed to the work environment in a new country and learning the native tongue to become fully fluent in Spanish and Portuguese (trilingual) . After 3 years of being in Santo Domingo, Ezequiel moved to Punta Cana (a highly sought after tourist city) located about two hours away from Santo Domingo to work in hospitality. It was here Ezequiel’s interest to create a business for himself was initially sparked. The hospitality environment at a renowned hotel like Hard Rock provided contacts and learning experiences for Ezequiel to confidently create a vision and lane for himself.
Excursions, private tours, private events, yacht parties and media management make up the some of the services provided by Bandoz.Inc. While some may think that these services are solely for the wealthy, Ezequiel has worked with an array of clients with travel packages fit for all ranges. From high profiled athletes and artists to working with groups of families and friends. In fact, now that COVID guidelines are being enforced globally, Ezequiel and his company are an essential part of travel for the DR. For example, during this past summer Ezequiel was notified to help locate a Villa and travel arrangements for a group of friends visiting DR. Immediately upon arriving at the airport he took the temperatures of all personnel present and provided hand sanitizer as well as COVID laws per Dominican Republic mandates. Ezequiel’s actions not only set the rules for the visitors coming in, but he also showed that the DR was taking necessary precautions to help combat this virus. Similar to other Caribbean countries, tourism is a major part of the Dominican Republic. As a result, having professional businesses and services like Bandoz.Inc. really set the tone for foreigners entering the DR to ensure that they are safe and enjoying themselves accordingly.
While many people love to stay near the Villa and amongst other tourists, others like myself have always been interested in the actual culture and local experiences. Bandoz Inc. does a great job of providing tour options for those interested.
While keeping business afloat during the pandemic, Ezequiel has become a fitness professional. When the pandemic first began he understood that this was a time for isolation (especially with stress being a major issue). Ezequiel committed to changing his lifestyle and naturally turned to working out. Fitness has not only helped him physically, but mentally. Ezequiel has completed training is now a certified Personal Trainer. Not only has he helped change himself, but he is now helping others achieve their fitness goals by daily motivation. Ezequiel now includes fitness sessions as part of his Bandoz business. Ezequiel can now provide these services to local clients, virtual sessions and tourists during their vacations in Punta Cana.
With much experience and dedication it will be no surprise that Bandzo Inc. and Ezequiel will continue to grow and help provide great travel, entertainment, fitness, and media management service. Product of Society is grateful that Ezequiel Soto was able to share his story and business with us! Before ending our conversation, Ezequiel was kind enough to leave us this message:
STAY POSITIVE AT ALL TIME NO MATTER HOW BAD THINGS GET. HARD TIMES DON’T LAST FOREVER SO ALWAYS STICK TO THE SCRIPT! MAKE SURE YOU SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE THAT WANT TO SEE YOU WIN IN LIFE AND KEEP YOUR CIRCLE SMALL. PRAISE THE ALMIGHTY AND EVERYTHING WILL FALL INTO PLACE” – EZEQUIEL SOTO FOUNDER OF BANDOZ INC.
