In a time where job production is consistently on the brink of being created or destroyed, major retailer JCPenney announces that they will be closing up to 140 various stores across the United States. The number of jobs being lost from this hasn’t yet been disclosed. And while uncertainty looms for other major retailers who haven’t been as profitable, JCPenney’s closings foreshadow the rise of online shopping and artificial intelligence.
